Kirkwood Colton Kirk Colton was appointed to the Easton Suburban Water Authority Board of Directors in 2003. He currently serves as Secretary and a member of the Executive Committee and the Personnel Committee.

Mr. Colton has an extensive background in education and program development. In 1989, he was recruited to develop the Parents' Committee at Lehigh University. In that capacity, he selected and recruited chairs and committee members, developed promotion and communication materials, planned, coordinated and conducted committee and presidential dinners, orientation programs, fundraising campaigns, and recruitment initiatives.

He also expanded the committee's functions to include executives-in-residence, professors of practice, providing internships and externships, event hosting, admissions outreach and recruiting. Throughout his tenure at Lehigh, Mr. Colton held a number of leadership roles and responsibilities and in 2004 and 2010 received the Lehigh University Tradition of Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to the University.

Prior to joining Lehigh University, Mr. Colton was the principal at Notre Dame High School in Easton, as well as a Spanish teacher and football and tennis coach at Bethlehem Catholic High School. He received his Bachelor's degree in Spanish from Lafayette College, a master's in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lehigh University. He served his country as a lieutenant petroleum officer in the United States Army in Germany, 1969-1971.

Mr. Colton retired from Lehigh University in January, 2011 and has been and is active in a variety of civic and community organizations: former member and chair of the Children's Home of Easton, past chair of the Easton Catholic Elementary School Board, currently the Alumni Vice President of the Tau Chapter (Lafayette College) of Zeta Psi Fraternity, member of the Knights of Columbus, and 14 year member of the National Parents' Fund Raising Conference Executive Committee. Mr. Colton is a member of the Parish Council, lector and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Easton.

Mr. Colton and his wife Marcia live in Easton and are the proud parents of 5 children and 11 grandchildren.
