11/15/2024: Why did I receive a leads status letter?

As part of a requirement from the Department of Environmental Protection, the D.E.P. Easton Suburban Water Authority is required to notify all customers that have a water service entering their property that is constructed of Lead, Galvanized or Lead Status Unknown.

In the letter you received, there will be a portion that shows your letter there should be a portion that says Service Location. This is the location the letter is for. Underneath that, it will show Public Space. This is the Authority’s portion of the water service. next, under that it will say Private Space. This is the Customer portion of the water service. The customer is responsible for this portion of the water service.

In our area homes built after 1950, are NOT constructed with lead service laterals. Homes prior to 1950 could have used lead water pipes. We are working on identifying all of our unknown service materials. If your letter shows on the private portion, unknown possible lead, we would like to ask for your help identifying the service material. This can be done easily by locating the water service entering your home and completing an online survey. The self report link is, https://arcg.is/1b4PfP0. Another option is that you can request one of our technicians to come out and do a visual inspection, this service is free of charge. Thank you for your help with identifying your service material.

12/19/2024: Drought Update

As of today, Northampton County is still in a Drought Watch. For more information visit DEP drought status site https://www.dep.pa.gov/Business/Water/PlanningConservation/Drought/pages/default.aspx

In a drought watch, we should all be seeking to reduce water use by about 5 percent through voluntary conservation measures. In a drought warning, we should be seeking to reduce water use by about 10-15% through voluntary conservation measures.
