Maintenance
Easton Suburban Water Authority is responsible for maintenance on the water service pipe and appurtenances extending from the main, including the tee or tap in the main, the lateral pipe to a point at or near the property line of a premise, curb stop or service valve, and curb or valve box. In the event that the service valve is located in the street, we will extend to the curb or the edge of pavement.
The curb stop is defined as a shutoff valve placed on a service line generally at the property line of a premises or curb line separating the water service from the customer's service line. The customer's service line is defined as that part of the water service pipe extending from the Authority's Service Line to the Premises, not including the meter.
Although the water meter on your property is the property of Easton Suburban Water Authority, you are responsible for the protection of the meter. If the meter freezes and breaks, for example, it will be your responsibility to replace it.
